Do you have a small niche market? A good strategy is to expand it. For example, I wrote a job-search book for college students. They don't like to spend money, so I redefined the "college" niche. I sold my book through a direct mail program to the parents of graduating seniors, as a textbook, as a fundraiser to the campus chapters of the American Marketing Assoc, and to alumni associations. Then I repackaged my book -- chapter by chapter -- in the form of several booklets, sold them to the directors of college Career Development offices at a much lower price, and they gave them to the students; I used content from the book and created "The Art of Interviewing" video and sold several to most colleges annually. Ask yourself, "Who else can use the content of my book, and in what format?" and that can help expand your niche.
