Our editors and I are almost finished with the last bit of editing on “Prescriptions from Paradise” and will be starting the production of the galley proof phase. Any suggestions or pitfalls to look out for?

Carlos, how are you planning on using these galleys? There are different ways we handle these for our clients, depending on the use.

Debi,
We were thinking of using the galley proofs in two ways. First, several people could use them for a final edit and I am thinking of sending them out to medical colleagues for them to comment and we could use the comments in the marketing of the book.
Any other ideas Debi on how to better use galley proofs or any better ways?
Carlos
Those are two great ways, Carlos, and you should also consider sending them to reviewers who require a galley instead of the finished book. You can have the finished (or almost finished) front cover with "Advance Reading Copy" or "Uncorrected Proof" added to that design. Then on the back cover show the meta data, a short description of the book and possibly an author bio (instead of the back cover copy you'll use on the finished version).
