What does this mean?

Pavarti,

This product extension best practices thread is referring to the opportunities that can be created by taking your content, or an element of your content, and expanding it into a new medium, beyond the original published format, with the goal being to create another revenue stream for your business.

This is a pretty wide ranging topic, and can include the most obvious examples, such as, starting with a pbook and then adding an ebook or audio book to the production cycle; starting with a children's book, and creating a plush toy based on a character in the story; or even starting with an adult fiction title, and then creating a poster based on a dramatic scene from the book.

This isn't about marketing your original product, the book. It is about expanding your contents potential by adding a new product to your line up that could be in demand by your core demographic.

Just today I saw blog post by Sally Adams, here on SPANnet, that references this concept, and refers to it as "bundling" and I think while it does run parallel, it may help to explain it further:

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this too me, put that way I completely understand.
