Among other fundamentals, Harvard Professor Rosabeth Moss Kanter, in her outstanding book: Confidence: How Winning Streaks & Losing Streaks Begin & End (Crown Business, 2007), writes about the importance of collaboration in building confidence and consequently success. She suggests “four kinds of actions” that should be utilized to take advantage of collaboration, and I quote:

 

“getting connected in new ways through new conversation”

“carrying out important work jointly”

“communicating respect”

“demonstrating inclusion”

 

I can make a good argument that SPANnet.org is helping authors and independent publishers incorporate collaboration in their business models to sell more books and make more money.
