Announcing New APSS Chapters: Mid-Atlantic and Washington State

Please welcome our two new APSS chapters and their Presidents

APSS-Mid-Atlantic: Zorina Alliata (zorinaalliata@yahoo.com) and Norwood Holland (norwoodholland@aim.com) were co-presidents of the Mid-Atlantic Book Publishers Association. We met recently and agreed to make MBPA the APSS chapter covering MD, DE, Eastern PA, Washington DC and Northern VA. They are now the co-presidents of APSS-Mid-Atlantic. Dr. David Kenneth Waldman was the previous president of that chapter, and he has moved on in a different direction. We thank him for his efforts in the past. More information is available at http://community.bookapss.org/page/baltimore.

APSS – Washington State: Laura Alexander (hellovoice@mac.com) was the President of APSS-Orange County and recently moved to the Seattle area. She already has people interested in joining with her to start an APSS chapter there, so we expanded the title from APSS-Seattle to APSS–Washington State to more accurately represent the enormous opportunity for APSS in the Northwest.  (http://community.bookapss.org/page/washington-state)

On Sep 13 we are conducting a one-day workshop for APSS-NJ, in Houston on Sep 23, and doing the same for APSS-Santa Clarita on Oct 1. Please email me at brianjud@bookapss.org for information on any event or chapter.

More information will be here soon about events in other APSS local chapters. We have chapters in Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Connecticut, Grand Rapids, Maine, Mid-Atlantic, Nashville, Nebraska, New Jersey, Phoenix, Santa Clarita (CA), Santa Fe, Sarasota, Southeast Texas and Washington State. Two international chapters are open in Canada and Nigeria. More will be coming over the next few months. If you are interested in starting an APSS chapter near you, please let me know at BrianJud@bookapss.org Why join an APSS local chapter? See many reasons at http://community.bookapss.org/page/why-join-a-chapter

Thank you to all for your continued loyalty as APSS members, Brian
