I am 46 years young, and embarking on new chapters in life. I am an extremly active individual with a zest for gaining more knowledge. I just completed my BA in Elementary Education and currently I am seeking employment in this noble career choice. I have many hobbies such a woodworking, home improvement projects, but my true passion is writing and playing music. I am also engaged in the writing and publication process of a children's book based on the true story of one of my cats and the miraculous adventure he embarked upon in December of 2009.
About Me - Professionally
I am new to the writing arena as far a publication is concerned. I have always been both an avid reader and writer. I am an Elementary school teacher with over twenty years experience working with children. Along with my co-author, who happens to be my mom, we possess close to 55 years of experience working with elementary age children . Our goal is to get our book published and into the hands of young readers, who we feel will enjoy reading a truly inspiring story.

Robert, Thanks for supporting our nonprofit with your recent SPANpro renewal! It’s meaningful to know you consider SPAN a resource in your publishing work. I hope this finds you and your family well, and if I can ever be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to ask. Oh…say hello to Oscar for me!
Robert,
I know how busy you are, but if you have time, would you please review this question from Michelle, and respond if you can assist her: link to question? Thank you, as always, for your consideration and expertise!
Respectfully,
Brad

Robert,
I enjoyed talking with you again this morning. It sounds like you are really working to develop your small publishing company. You mentioned that your website is up and running and you’ve been blogging. Can I ask that your post your web address here on your MY Page?
Robert,
Great to have your active participation in the SPAN Community! I hope you find it beneficial…I already know we’ve benefited by your comments regarding printing options. Can I ask you a favor? I see that you’ve asked about your galley process by the input you’ve received from Hippoville. If you have time, would you mind posting a form of that question on the Children’s Books Group Discussions? Thanks for considering it and all the best!
Robert,
If illustrations are an integral component to your children's book (like a picture storybook), then it's a definite for a galley. I'd still have your illustrations included even if they're supplementary. As for getting them printed, your best bet is finding a printer who specializes in ultra-short run books (a so called digital printer vs offset). Lulu and Blurb are not economic options. Try asking for quotes from this list: http://www.aeonix.com/bookprnt.htm
