There are thousands of people in today’s maker movement, a “burgeoning subculture of craft, creative and quirky do-it-yourselfers,” according to Drive Magazine (Winter, 2016). The movement has “maker spaces” where makers of all kinds come together to share space, tools and new ideas. "It’s also a social club,” says Stephen Lynch of Hack Manhattan (www.hackmanhattan.com ). “It’s fun to be around so many creative people,” added Bill Wesssiner of ADX in Portland (www.adxportland.com ).

How could APSS adapt this concept to book marketing? If you have an idea, send it to BrianJud@bookapss.org or use the Suggestion Box  at www.bookapss.org where others can add their opinions to yours.

Should APSS join the maker movement?
