Here are ten of Brian Jud's tweets from this week that may help you sell more books profitably. If you would like to follow Brian Jud on Twitter you can at @bookmarketing

1) Don’t compare your weaknesses to someone else’s strengths. Focus on you own talents.

2) When writing: show, don’t tell. When selling, ask, don’t tell. Get your prospect involved in the process by asking questions.

3) Book marketing is as simple as PIE: Plan what you will do, Implement that plan and periodically Evaluate your progress

4) Be optimistic when you ask for the order. “You don’t want any books today, do you?” is not a good closing question

5) Don’t always try to squeeze more profit from existing revenue. You may end up cutting corners. Get more revenue.

6) Remember the KISS principle: Keep Implementing Special Sales

7) Your problem may be too many prospective buyers. Qualify and prioritize them to spend selling time most effectively.

8) Bring buyers to the decision point gradually: problem – solution – confirmation -- repeat

9) Fill-in-the-blank books are not popular among librarians since many patrons who borrow the books fill in the blanks

10) “One reason Goliath lost is that he anticipated David’s response and didn’t think of options,” said Malcolm Gladwell. Be open to options
